We are the champions!
Readers Cup, Thomas's Battersea
Pupils from years 5 and 6 recently took part in the Readers Cup Competition at Thomas's Battersea. The children had to compete in 4 quick fire rounds, based on the three books they have been reading this term. High View led from the start with all ten children showing their knowledge and quickness on the buzzer!
Thank you to Suzy Clode, from Thomas's volunteers who sent this lovely message of congratulations:
"The pupils' victory yesterday and the smiles on their faces, from the first donut to lifting the winning cup, was a joy to behold. I am immensely proud of all they have achieved, and it is testimony to how dedicated hard work on all the parts of the children and their teachers for driving the initiative, has paid off. It could not come at a better time for you, and a great way to go into the Easter holidays.
I hope you celebrate their victory school-wide, and that news reaches all of the High View community, the school body, parents and carers, and does much to inspire their peers. High View have entered the Readers' Cup twice in 2016 and 2018 and won on both occasions, a 100% win ratio!"
The team won £100 Amazon Vouchers for the school, a set of books for the school library and an author visit from Kiran Milwood Hargrave next term. As champions, the team will take part in the Readers Cup Grand Final in June.
All of the staff and pupils of High View are very proud of the team and wish them all the best for the final.
